iPhone

iPhoneYes, now I am in the millions that have posted blogs on the day of the release. I have read blogs that range from Woz and the Mayor of Philadelphia waiting in line for their phones. There is a weird rumor that AT&T has boosted the speed on their EDGE network. I have seen pictures of lines and people missing a day of work all over a phone. So what does this say about our culture today? Technology is VERY important to us. We have become a generation and a culture that not only loves, but depends on our technology. Apple and the iPhone will change the course of history with this device, or so we are being told, I wonder if that can be true? How can a device such as this really change our world, I guess we will find out. So for just today, Happy iPhone Day!.

A song to my daughters…

Catherine saw Jon today on the Today Show. Jon McLaughlin is a 24 year old that became popular via MySpace. For a man with three daughters this song rings true in so many ways. I was very impressed.

Mossberg reviews the iPhone…

I could not let the week pass without putting something about the iPhone on my blog. The hype the last couple of weeks has been painful so some dose of realism about this device is appreciated. This post by Walt Mossberg is a refreshing but exciting perspective on the iPhone.

Dr. Richard Pratt - The Church & the Advancement of the Kingdom

As stated in an earlier post I attended the EPC General Assembly this week and was able to hear Dr Richard Pratt speak. I was profoundly affected by this address and wanted take a minute to share it with all of you. His insights on the Kingdom of God were life changing.

Jawbone makes noisy calls possible…

jawbone...I came across this amazing bluetooth device today that filters noise out of your conversations. When you drive a large heavy diesel truck you are always looking for anything to make your conversations on the phone a little easier. Now there is jawbone. This bluetooth headset works from the vibrations that our jawbone makes and does not “listen” to any ambient noise. This demo is pretty darn amazing. According to TUAW this headset will go on sale in stores late next week next to the iphone. At $120 dollars it is a bit pricey but if it allows you to have those calls that were previously impossible in your car at a noisy worksite it is probably worth it.
