City of Memphis Begins Construction

construction_update.png

This Monday the City of Memphis will begin their drainage improvements to the 2pc campus. I have to admit that this will be the most disruptive part of this entire construction campaign. Beginning next week the existing west drive off of Central Avenue will be closed and traffic will have to come into campus from Central through the old CPC driveway just east of there. Traffic will flow across the old bridge in the old CPC parking lot and a new temporary drive will connect traffic to the existing driveway and the new CPC parking lot.

The City of Memphis is doing these drainage improvements to relieve flooding problems on the South side of Central Ave. The church and school will benefit through the use of a new soccer field that the city will construct. Additionally, it will relocate the current drainage on campus making way for the new F Building which will break ground in the coming months.

We understand that this is a huge disruption for the entire campus including the CPC and PDS. We will make every effort to make this as painless as possible and will work hard to keep you informed as to changes to any planning. We will be posting updates on the new web site that launched this week, www.2pc.org. The map that is below is available in larger form here.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and prayers during this amazing season of our life together at 2PC.

Building Committee Chairman

2pc.org launches soon!

2pc_web.png

We are anxiously awaiting the launch of 2pc.org this morning. Robb and his team have been working on this for many months and have been gracious to show me beta versions along the way. It promises to be a great tool for our congregation and for resourcing many outside of our flock. Thanks for the hard work, it look great. It is worth the wait!

Bookmark to open this Sunday…

construction_update.png

The latest issue of construction update went out yesterday announcing the opening of the new Bookmark Bookstore. The new store will be in the B Building across the hall from the reception desk in the Northeast corner of the building. Though not officially open, i.e. the wall coming down, for a few more weeks, the door along the main corridor will be open for business starting this Sunday. The Bookmark staff have been exceptionally patient during this season enduring a longer than expected tenure in the old CPC building. The building committee would like to thank all of you for your continued patronage in spite of the distance from everything else on campus. We are glad to have them back in the middle of campus. Take some time next week to walk through the new space, it turned out wonderfully.

2PC - February Construction Update

construction_update.png

The February construction update was sent out to the 2PC congregation tonight. Construction is beginning to hit the fast and furious pace as we get ready to seriously disturb life as we know it on the West end of the campus. You can stay tuned here for updates and maps or see the 2PC Web site.

2pc youth site launches…

As an early teaser to the new 2pc.org launch, the church has turned on a new site / blog for the youth. I love the look, and what is amazing is that the back end is all wordpress, which incidentally is what this blog is running. I can’t wait to see what creative uses Todd and his staff will have for the site. Way to go Robb, it looks super!
