iPhone Guided Tours…

When the iPhone first came out there were these awesome guided tours available on apple’s Web site. However it seems that sometime in the last few months they have replaced those videos with a slightly less great tips page. The tips are great but require a little more motivation from the user to work through them. If you are just trying to give someone an overview of how the phone works and some of its best features, the videos were far superior. So thanks to youtube I was able to locate the videos that I needed for a new user in the family. I will post the videos in three subsequent blog posts.

Will it blend?

Will it Blend - iPhoneIn one of the best examples of viral marketing I have seen, Blendtech has taken on the task of blending an iPhone. The “Will it Blend” videos produce heart racing anxiety as they go about disintegrating everyday products. My favorite may be the crowbar. But in this latest video, Blendtech spokesperson Tom Dickson purees a brand new iPhone. Watching the video is a mixture of, “surely he is not going to… no! please don’t do that. Oh he really did it. Oh, wow that was really cool - huh, iSmoke?”

David Pogue’s new musical…

There is a hardly a day that goes by that I don’t take some time out to read David Pogue’s NYT’s blog. I find David to be highly entertaining and knowledgeable about his subject. But possibly some of the best stuff that David does are his song spoofs about technology. His latest is a video musical he did about the latest gadget from Apple. (I won’t mention it by name due to my previous promises). This video is well worth your time and very funny.

Last iPhone post, I promise…

I said I was not going to post anything on the iPhone but here I am with number 3. However, I could not resist this post as it proves the engineering capabilities of Apple Inc. pcworld in this post demonstrates the hardiness of the iPhone by scratching it with keys and dropping it on concrete. The tests were pretty brutal and the results were amazing.
