There is a hardly a day that goes by that I don’t take some time out to read David Pogue’s NYT’s blog. I find David to be highly entertaining and knowledgeable about his subject. But possibly some of the best stuff that David does are his song spoofs about technology. His latest is a video musical he did about the latest gadget from Apple. (I won’t mention it by name due to my previous promises). This video is well worth your time and very funny.

I said I was not going to post anything on the iPhone but here I am with number 3. However, I could not resist this post as it proves the engineering capabilities of Apple Inc. pcworld in this post demonstrates the hardiness of the iPhone by scratching it with keys and dropping it on concrete. The tests were pretty brutal and the results were amazing.
Want your screen saver to turn off when you walk in the room? What about having iTunes automatically pause and play when you leave or comeback? What about being able to send SMS messages from your computer. BluePhoneElite will allow you to do all this and more. I am dying to give this app a try but my Blackberry is not supported but many other phones are compatible. This is a must to show to your Windows friend who want to see some of the power built into a Mac.

Motorola has just supplied a firmware update for the Q that will finally enable MSFP to work on this Verizon device. MSFP, or Microsoft Messaging and Security Feature Pack will finally enable Windows Mobile devices to have email pushed to them rather than pulling email. When it was announced it was thought that this would be a serious competitor to Blackberry, however it may be too late to the show. In addition to allowing for push email it will provide security features for users receiving mail from Exchange 2003 and will allow the Q to be used as a modem on a laptop. There are also some bug fixes and improvements to the OS. For all you Q users out there you will want to get your hands on this firmware update.
I have had my EVDO card for nearly a year now, and I must say it is the greatest. EVDO is broadband speed wireless over Verizon’s cell phone network. I can take my laptop anywhere, open it up, browse the Internet (FAST!) and get lot’s of work done, no matter where I am. I recently found out that I can use my Blackberry as a modem rather than the PCMCIA card, however this is not quite as nice as you are tethered with a USB cable; convenient not to carry a seperate card, but tied to a cable. Life is full of trade-offs.
Today I came across this article which touts a new ExpressCard offering from Verizon. The pictures look fantastic as far as size and form factor are concerned.
