I posted earlier about Senator McCain’s proposal to institute a moratorium on the gas tax this summer. Since that time Senator Clinton has jumped on that band-wagon and suggest a similar disastrous idea. The only candidate speaking any sense these days as it relates to oil and infrastructure is Obama, who agrees that it is insane. This morning I came across a wired blog that pointed to this spoof page. Keeping the truest form to the best of Nigerian money scams, this hardened democrat speaks truth about the McCain and Clinton ideas for a summer break on gas taxes. Enjoy!

Entry fee to largest volleyball tournament in the Southeast - $70
One night stay at the brand new Hilton in downtown Atlanta - $140
Bess setting off the first fire alarm in the new hotel with a burnt bag of popcorn - PRICELESS!
Yes, the fire department stormed the recently opened downtown Hilton Gardens when my daughter, while engrossed in Lost, set off the fire alarm trying to pop popcorn in the microwave. Catherine who was in the lobby decided to see how she would handle it until she saw them run in with axes and was fearful she might not open the door for the fireman. Bess, it will take you a few years to live this one down!
update: Bess got a link on the tournament web site for this escapade.

My girls left for the BigSouth volleyball tournament this morning. Upon checking for schedule information we noticed that in the craziness of trying to move the tournament the tournament directors have moved all information updates to kindagood.com. There are some great video and lots of humor to be shared here. All of the information links have been populated on the left side of the page, however the pool and schedule server must be slammed because it is not coming up. Be patient all, it will come available eventually.

A few weeks ago I reported our harrowing experience of trying to get to a volleyball tournament in Little Rock in the middle of an ice and snow storm. Well this week, having just returned from Louisville, we are planning to head to Atlanta for the Big South tournament. As it turns out the SEC Basketball Tournmanet is not the only tournament looking for a new location. The Georgia World Congress Center where the tournament was to be held was severely damaged during last Friday’s storms in downtown Atlanta. The Governor of Georgia has officially closed the GWCC, thus the tournament directors are trying to relocate the tournament to alternate sites. Looking at the pictures it is easy to understand why the GWCC could not accommodate the 38,000 volleyball players planning to compete in the tournament.
The Big South tournament has stated that they will make a decision by 4pm EST today as to whether or not they have been able to relocate the tournament.
Update: Update from Big South this afternoon.
